The Twenty-Second Sunday After Pentecost

The Twenty-Second Sunday After Pentecost

Almighty and everlasting God, give unto us the increase of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may obtain that which thou dost promise, make us to love that which thou dost command; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (Proper 25)

5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

A new venture for young adults (20s through 40s) will meet at a pub near the church following Choral Evensong on Sunday, October 24, and about once every four to six weeks down the road. Father Austin will lead an informal discussion, based on that evening’s sermon, at a sort-of-round table. You are invited, and you are especially invited to bring a friend.

Evensong is from 4 to 5 p.m.; we will be at the pub by 5:30 until no later than 7 p.m. The pub does not expect us to have a ‚Äúminimum tab,‚Äù and so while you can order food they won’t mind if you only order something to drink. Because we have to make reservations, please contact Fr Austin if you will be attending

Our conversation on October 24 will take off from Fr Austin’s sermon at Evensong, which will be on being a faithful Christian in the world. (The scriptural text assigned is 1 Corinthians 10:15-22, which takes up a specific problem of this sort that the Christians in Corinth were facing.)
