Theology Class: "Race and Reserve in the High Church Tradition"

Sunday, January 17, 2021
10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. | Held Via Zoom

Fr. Brandt Montgomery was our guest lecturer at the theology class on Sunday, January 17th, 2021, when we honored the Feast of Martin Luther King, Jr. He discussed how the doctrine of reserve — the cautious and gradual teaching of theological topics — became (and in some ways still is) a “blind spot” of the High Church tradition with respect to being a fully diverse, equitable, and inclusive tradition. A video of the class is available above.

Fr. Montgomery is the Chaplain of Saint James School in Hagerstown, Maryland.  A former seminarian intern at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, Fr. Montgomery is a contributor to Covenant, the blog of The Living Church Foundation.
