This series is an introduction to the practice of prayer. The Scriptures and those who have gone before us have left us rich insights into prayer and many different pathways of personal devotion. These eight sessions will introduce participants to the extraordinary variety of devotional practices, and offer guidance in discovering ways of praying authentic for them.

The Psalms, the prayer book of ancient Israel, display an astonishingly wide range not only of subject matter, but also of emotion: from sheer, uninhibited joy to devastation, doubt and rage. As such, they are a school of prayer in themselves, and invite us to pray out of the real stuff of our complicated lives.
